Young Leaders – aged 14 to 18 yrs

What is a Young Leader?
Explorer Scout Young Leaders are Explorers who volunteer alongside adult leaders in a Beaver Colony, Cub Pack or Scout Troop. They’re a valuable asset to any leadership team and play an active role in the section, bringing a range of fresh ideas to the table and acting as positive role models for the young people they work alongside.

What do I have to do to be a Young Leader?
There are four missions and 11 modules (A-H) to complete as part of your training. Modules give Young Leaders the skills and knowledge to be successful in their role, while missions allow them to put everything into practice with support.

Module A needs to be completed within 3 months of joining the programme. All other modules need to be completed within two years.

HM King Charles III has been confirmed as our new Patron, a great honour for UK Scouts.

The King continues a long tradition of the monarch giving their Patronage, dating back to 1912. This was when Scouts was granted its Royal Charter and HM George V became our first Patron.
