Date: 5th Jan 2022 Author: Carol Baird

Come and show your support of our group at the AGM – Friday 7 January at 7.30pm

We are inviting you to join us at our Annual General Meeting that will take place on Friday evening at 7.30pm.

It is your chance to find out what 17th Harrow have been doing and what our plans are for the future.

If you have a skill and can spare time in the future, we are always looking for volunteers…

If you just want to be a parent for now… that is also OK… but come along and find out.

Because of Covid issues, the plan is to host it online. Please refer to your email for the Zoom meeting link.

Must we have an Annual General Meeting?
Given that every Scout Group is a charity and many register with the Charity Commission all Scout Groups must have an Annual General Meeting. It is the responsibility of the Group Executive Committee, as the Charity Trustees, to ensure this happens.

Whose Annual General Meeting is it?
The Group Council’s. Which leads to the next question…

Who are the members of the Group Council?
Membership of the Group Scout Council is open to:

• All appointed Leaders in the Group;
• Colony, Pack and Troop Assistants;
• Occasional Helpers
• Group Scout Active Support members;
• Skills Instructors;
• Administrators;
• Advisers;
• Patrol Leaders;
• Parents of Beaver Scouts, Cub Scouts and Scouts;
• Any other supporters including former Scouts and their parents who may be admitted by the Group Scout Leader or the Group Executive Committee;

Should I attend? I get back so late from work.
Like you, the members of the Executive Committee, the section leaders and the Group Scout Leader, all are very busy, but they need to take time out to report back to parents… therefore, to report to the parents… we need the parents there… your effort to attend is appreciated.
